Horton's Steam Fair at Pinkneys Green

For generations, the sight of steam engines and the sound of the fairground organ have been synonymous with the Spring Bank Holiday at Pinkneys Green, Maidenhead. We are thrilled to announce that Horton’s Steam Fairis returning to this iconic National Trust location from 23rd – 25th May 2026.

After the incredible reception we received last year, we are coming back even bigger, bringing the very best of British fairground heritage to the heart of Berkshire.

Preserving the Magic of the "Steam Fair"

We know how much the local community treasures the tradition of a fair on the Green. Our mission is to keep that magic alive. Whether you remember the fairs of decades past or you’re bringing your children for their very first ride on a set of 19th-century Gallopers, our event is designed to bridge the generations.

What’s New for 2026?

This year, we’ve curated a selection of rides that celebrate the "Golden Age" of the fairground:

  • The Big Wheel - Offering unparalleled views across the Maidenhead countryside.
  • The Dodgems -A classic favourite for the "big kids" and families alike.
  • The Lightning Skid - For those looking for a vintage thrill!
  • Traditional Fairground Treats - No visit is complete without hot sugar-dusted doughnuts and traditional candy floss!

A Community Event for Maidenhead

As a family-run business, we believe the fair should be accessible to everyone. That’s why entry to Pinkneys Green remains completely free. You only pay for the rides you want to enjoy, making it the perfect flexible afternoon out for local families.
